lyrics
Mother South
I walk down the line,
misery right and left.
I walk straight to the end
weeping over the dead.
I’ve seen them bleed
while longing for freedom,
try to settle their life,
though losing
all their faith.
I hear them cry
while feeding
their children,
while working the day
and praying
through the night.
Mother South,
you gave your life,
gave your life away for me
and I never paid you back.
Mother South,
you gave your blood,
you gave your blood
and then drowned therein,
all alone.
Gave your blood away for me…
And I’ll never paid my debt,
I never did…
You sucked the soul
out of the living,
filled it with poison,
filled it with dirt.
My tongue is loaded,
loaded with hate.
Ready to shoot,
ready to hurt.
I’ll set your church on fire…
Burn, burn, burn !
The seed is sown
and hell that will raise.
I’m growing on you,
I’m feeding on you,
I’ll be your judge.
No mercy allowed.
You unlocked the cage,
made room to vengeance.
I’m spitting arrows
soaked with pain.
I’ll set your church on fire…
Burn, burn, burn!
The seed is sown
and hell that will raise.
Go ! Go! GO!
And I’ll set your
house on fire.
Burn, burn, burn!
The seed is sown
and hell that will raise.
I’ll set your church on fire…
Burn, burn, burn !
The seed is sown
and hell that will raise.

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
